Built from the field up.
We started where most energy projects start: at a landowner’s door. Years of residential solar, real estate, construction and regulatory work taught our founders that projects succeed or fail on the relationship with the person who owns the land.
That lesson became Land Acquisition. What began as a focused utility-scale and community solar origination firm has grown into a multi-market land company serving transmission-level solar, wind and battery storage, distributed energy, data centers, housing and oil & gas.
The markets have changed. The way we work has not: straight answers, fair agreements and relationships built to last.

Two operators who have spent their careers in energy, land and the field, and still pick up the phone themselves.
Mitchell May
Mitchell holds a bachelor’s degree from Slippery Rock University and began his career selling residential solar while still in college. He went on to start a residential solar company in California that expanded into Florida and Pennsylvania, installing residential and small commercial systems before moving into land development.
A licensed contractor who has run businesses for more than a decade, Mitchell specializes in sales and negotiation. At Land Acquisition he leads landowner acquisition, distributed generation origination, zoning and lease economics, and the training of the company’s land agents. He calls large-scale grid development his dream career, and loves doing it alongside good, honest people.
Dillan Wilson
Dillan holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and has more than a decade of experience spanning military service, environmental compliance, real estate and renewable energy development. He has worked with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection on regulatory compliance and served as a licensed real estate agent managing complex transactions.
Dillan specializes in land acquisition for utility-scale and community solar projects. He brings the discipline and strategic thinking of his military background to every deal, and is the reason Land Acquisition is proudly veteran-owned.

Our land agents complete a structured training program covering every market we serve, from transmission-level solar to data centers. Junior agents set appointments and learn alongside senior agents, who lead landowner meetings and negotiations.
